How I Made $1,000,000 on Social Media

And that is $1,000,000 in revenue from only selling ONE product.

In my last Youtube video, I talked about Instagram growth and my journey of hitting 100k followers. Today, I am going to discuss this cool revenue milestone.

Yes, I am more excited about this one million dollars revenue than the Instagram growth.

Vanity Metrics are Just Vanity Metrics

If you want to run an online business, it’s not just about how many followers or subscribers you have. It’s about how many sales you’re able to produce in your business.

That’s why today, I want to go beyond vanity metrics. I want to talk to you about what it takes to make money online. I want to talk about what I’ve learned along the way. How I was able to transition from being a content creator to making a living on social media.

#1: Remove The Limiting Belief

If you want to make money on social media, it’s possible. But the first tip or lesson is to remove the limiting belief that you have.

It’s important because this limiting belief is the exact reason why I didn’t start my channel sooner. It’s because there’s a misconception that happens a lot in our minds. If something is easy, we shouldn’t charge for it. But this mindset is wrong.

The fact that you’re actually good at it should be the reason why you should be charging for your expertise. It should be the reason why you should create a business around it. I personally didn’t learn this lesson until I started seeing it in action.

#2: Take Action Even When You’re Not Confident

The reason why I started making money on social media is that I take action. So many people refuse to take action simply because they’re not confident.

But I learned this through my experience of taking relentless actions. If I was to wait for my confidence to go up, I would still be living at mom’s house. Yes, there are so many people out there who are doing what you are doing. But regardless of what it is, it’s your responsibility to show up.

One thing you need to know is there’s always going to be someone out there in the world that knows more than you. That’s just a given. You might think that I’m a master at growing on Instagram, YouTube, and content creation. But there are a bunch of other experts out there that know more than me. They have more experience than me.

But I also know there are people who know less than me. And those are the people I’m serving.

#3: Work With Clients Even If You’re Inexperienced

So many people give excuses saying that they don’t have experience. Thus, this hindering them from working with clients.

But if you never put yourself out there and serve clients, you will never gain any experience.

One of my issues when I started out what thinking I could never work with clients. And this is simply because I thought I had no experience. But this mindset is totally wrong and it took me a while to finally found that confidence to work with clients.

Yes, when I first started working with my first clients, it was for free. It was because I had no idea what I was capable of. I had no idea what a coaching business was. I have no idea what results I could get for these people. And so for the first three people that sent me DMs, I told them, “It’s on the house.”

I worked for free and once I got them the results, I built myself from that. It was all for exchange in feedback. This is how you make money on social media. By getting referrals and testimonials from your clients.

#4: Start Outsourcing

You will be hitting a place where you have too many clients and not enough of you. Because you’re trading time for money. Once you started to get booked out, you need to learn to outsource.

If you need to hire a video editor, hire a video editor. If you need help with small tasks, hire a virtual assistant. Because you have to realize, being a content creator vs. a business owner are two different hats.

You need to realize that once you hit a certain goal, you no longer can operate all by yourself. You will need to seek help because that’s what you need.

#5: The More You Share, The More You Prove

Having a product or service is completely different than building trust and authority.

The more people who know about you and follow you, the more people know what you offer. And the more clients that you’re going to get and the more income you will make. This is also the reason why I still create free content on Youtube.

Because I need that free traffic. I need to establish my following and continue to grow my audience. The more people I attract, the bigger my chance of building my authority.

The free content is kind of like free samples. You take a bite of the free food sample. If they like it, they want to buy the whole package. That’s how it works.
